Christopher Nolan's Next Film Is Based on Homer's Odyssey

Christopher Nolan's next film already has a release date and will be based on The Odyssey, the classic poem by Greek author Homer. 

This past Monday (23), Universal Pictures revealed that the movie will premiere in theaters on July 17, 2026. They didn't reveal many other details, except that it will be filmed around the world in a "mythical action epic" style and will use the "latest IMAX technology."

Nolan, a longtime IMAX enthusiast, would be responsible for the first adaptation of Homer's saga to be shown on IMAX cinema screens. Earlier this month, he told the Associated Press that they are currently in an intensive testing phase with IMAX to prepare for the new production.

"They have an incredible engineering team — truly brilliant minds doing extraordinary work. It's wonderful to see innovation in the film arena still happening, and happening at the highest possible level,"
said the director to the AP.
